🔗 Join a group
Someone sent you an invite? Joining takes about ten seconds and you don't need to create an account — a first name is enough.
Tap the invite link
Open the link your friend sent — from any chat or email, in any browser. You'll see the group's name and who's already in it. No link? Open the app, tap Join a group and enter the 6-character code instead.
Type your first name
That's what the group will see next to your expenses. Nothing else is required.
Tap “Join group” — done
You land straight in the group and can start adding expenses. Your membership is remembered on this device.
The account options, explained
Below the name field there's an optional link: “Sign in or create an account”. You can ignore it completely — but an account means you can sign back in on any device and keep all your groups together. Your choices:
| Just your name | The default. Fastest way in. Your membership lives on the device you joined from — save your personal link (see below) if you switch phones. |
|---|---|
| Use existing | Already have an account (maybe from another group)? Enter its email and password while joining — the new membership is added to that account. |
| Create new | Make an account as you join: email + password (at least 6 characters). Same single step, and this group is saved to it from the start. |
Joined without an account? Keep your membership
No stress — you can connect an account any time later, or carry the membership to another device:
- On the group's Overview you'll see a “Keep your membership” card — it lets you copy a personal link or add an account on the spot.
- Or open Members → your own name → “Use on another device” to copy the personal link. Open that link on the other phone and the same membership follows you — expenses, balance and all.
If the link doesn't work
- “That invite link is no longer valid” — the group's code may have been rotated. Ask the person who invited you for a fresh link, or type the current 6-character code into the code field that appears.
- Wrong name or joined twice? An admin can rename or remove members from the Members tab.
